Job Description
The Human Resources Clerk will directly assist the Human Resources Department with a wide range of projects related to HR to include recruiting in RMS, screening applications, data enter in to HRIS, conducting reference checks, making orientation booklets, assisting with new hire orientation, setting up interviews, and general HR filing.
Job Description:
* Maintain accuracy of, and update employee personnel files in accordance with company policies and regulations.
* Enter data into Human Resources database to keep employee records current.
* Review resumes in online database to recruit qualified individuals for specific open positions.
* Assist with new hire on-boarding and orientation.
* Perform basic phone reference checks.
* Set up, track and monitor interview schedules and activities. Organize or prepare necessary materials and takes steps to ensure interviews run smoothly.
* Assist Recruiters with RMS (Recruitment Management Systems) which may include opening requisitions, posting positions on job boards, filling, deleting, canceling requisitions, etc.
* Interact with candidates and schedule interviews.
* Work with Recruiters to ensure that all records and reports and departmental materials are organized and up-to-date.
* Recommend or implement ideas, procedures, or systems for improving communications, tracking, or other business systems or methods.
* Coordinate meetings, book conference rooms and ensure that conference room arrangements are appropriate for the purpose.
* Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions as assigned.
* Filing support for the Human Resources department (filing, creating new hire folders, creating term folders, etc.) as assigned.
* Assemble employee packets for Human Resources department including orientation packets, and pre-employment paperwork, etc. as assigned.
* Assist with completing pre-employment and on-boarding paperwork for new employees.
* Track via computer (Excel) the receipt of job descriptions and performance evaluations.
* Assist with assigned projects related to the HR Department's strategic goals and/or ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
* Basic knowledge of U.S. Labor Laws: EEO, FLSA, OSHA, COBRA, FMLA, and ADA is preferred.
* Current student or recent graduate in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or Business (with a concentration in HR).
* Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include use of the internet.
* Student or regular member of SHRM is a plus.
* Oral, written and interactive communication skills
* Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
* Ability to convey a positive and professional image to internal and external customers.
* Ability to organize and set priorities.
* Ability to sustain concentration and problem solve.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work in a fast-pace and deadline driven environment.
## Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Current student or recent graduate in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or Business (with a concentration in HR).
* Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include use of the internet.
* Student or regular member of SHRM is a plus.
* Oral, written and interactive communication skills
* Skilled in effective research tactics and good organization.
* Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
* Ability to convey a positive and professional image to internal and external customers.
* Ability to organize and set priorities.
* Ability to sustain concentration and problem solve.

## Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of U.S. Labor Laws: EEO, FLSA, OSHA, COBRA, FMLA, and ADA is preferred.
## Special Requirements
An FBI/State Police background check, drug screening, and Child Protective Services Central Registry search will be required prior to employment.
